\u201cSensores optoelectr\u00f3nicos para digitalizar las fundiciones de cobre\u201d<\/strong> liderado por el acad\u00e9mico Roberto Parra, del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Metal\u00fargica, fue uno de los cinco proyectos de base cient\u00edfica ganadores de la primera convocatoria de Company Building, Apta Builder, cuya final se realiz\u00f3 este jueves 7 de enero de 2021, v\u00eda on line, en una ceremonia que cont\u00f3 con la presencia del Ministro de Ciencia y Tecnolog\u00eda, Andr\u00e9s Couve.<\/p>\n

De esta manera 12 equipos de investigadores y emprendedores,\u00a0provenientes de diferentes universidades y regiones del pa\u00eds, luego de tres meses de entrenamiento,\u00a0presentaron sus tecnolog\u00edas ante un jurado experto, el cual eligi\u00f3 cinco grupos que recibir\u00e1n un financiamiento de $60 millones de pesos. APTA Builder, una iniciativa impulsada por el hub de transferencia tecnol\u00f3gica APTA, que promueve la creaci\u00f3n de empresas chilenas de base cient\u00edfica-tecnol\u00f3gica<\/p>\n

A partir de octubre, de 2020, se inici\u00f3 el programa de entrenamiento a la medida, que considera la realizaci\u00f3n de un plan de trabajo con los asesores para definir la estructura de sus empresas de base cient\u00edfico-tecnol\u00f3gica, ejecuci\u00f3n y monitoreo de la estrategia comercial a implementar, el desarrollo de una propuesta de valor, incorporaci\u00f3n de indicadores de medici\u00f3n, crecimiento e inversi\u00f3n y herramientas para el levantamiento de capital, entre otros.<\/p>\n

Al respecto, Roberto Parra, defini\u00f3 dos dimensiones que se deben reconocer, \u201cuna ellas es la satisfacci\u00f3n que terceros reconozcan lo que siempre nos ha impulsado a hacer investigaci\u00f3n aplicada, que es vincularla con la realidad para aportar al desarrollo amplio con soluciones cient\u00edficas, en este caso, soluciones tecnol\u00f3gicas de base cient\u00edfica<\/strong>\u201d, dijo, agregando que es parte del trabajo que realizan en el Departamento de Metal\u00fargica, siempre vinculado a la industria. La otra se refiere a un cambio de mirada respecto a la investigaci\u00f3n, \u201ccreo se est\u00e1 siendo m\u00e1s exigente con la investigaci\u00f3n, que no se quede solo en un trabajo intelectual en el cual la capacidad de lograr buenos resultados se traduce <\/strong>solo <\/strong>en el cocimiento, debe tambi\u00e9n incorporar la dimensi\u00f3n de un conocimiento aplicado para hacerse cargo de desaf\u00edos de nuestra sociedad<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

De igual manera, Parra destac\u00f3 el proceso que llev\u00f3 al equipo a ser elegido uno de los cinco proyectos ganadores, defini\u00e9ndolo como un periodo interesante, \u201cdespu\u00e9s de ser seleccionado entre las 12 iniciativas comenz\u00f3 un trabajo con consejeros y mentores, quienes fueron actuando de manera muy personalizada, esto nos permiti\u00f3 identificar una serie de condiciones que no ten\u00edamos presente, porque no las conoc\u00edamos, hubo una parte formativa muy buena<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

El proyecto ganador de la FI UdeC se basa en el desarrollo en sensores \u00f3pticos inal\u00e1mbricos capaces de medir las variables del proceso de una fundici\u00f3n de cobre -radiaci\u00f3n electromagn\u00e9tica de las reacciones qu\u00edmicas en el proceso pirometal\u00fargico-, digitalizar la informaci\u00f3n y enviarla a un computador.<\/p>\n

La fibra \u00f3ptica captura la luz y la gu\u00eda por una carretera de alta velocidad, enviando la informaci\u00f3n, a los\u00a0transductores\u00a0desde un lugar que no es accesible, pero como la fibra es flexible puede llegar a\u00a0ellos.\u00a0\u201cEse es el caso de estas fundiciones y\u00a0hornos metal\u00fargicos\u00a0donde se funde el metal, donde accedemos a trav\u00e9s de unas peque\u00f1as mirillas que se usan para inyectar ciertos elementos durante el proceso, y\u00a0nosotros\u00a0entramos con\u00a0la fibra \u00f3ptica recogiendo informaci\u00f3n de la combusti\u00f3n en forma de luz y la llevamos a los\u00a0transductores\u201d,<\/strong>\u00a0explic\u00f3 Sergio Torres, acad\u00e9mico del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda El\u00e9ctrica e integrante del grupo de investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Por su parte, Roberto Parra comenta que hace a\u00f1os que han estado realizando investigaci\u00f3n, desarrollado varios proyectos Fondef, contratos tecnol\u00f3gicos con la industria, principalmente,\u00a0Codelco, y un Anillo en este tema.\u00a0\u201cEs un trabajo en que hemos llegado a buen puerto con algunos desarrollos espec\u00edficos, algunos de los cuales han sido patentados y otros que est\u00e1n en proceso\u201d,<\/strong>\u00a0puntualiz\u00f3 el acad\u00e9mico, quien agreg\u00f3 que algunas de estas patentes han iniciado licenciamientos para realizar pruebas industriales en Europa, espec\u00edficamente, en fundiciones de cobre de Alemania y Bulgaria, empresas\u00a0referentes en el \u00e1rea en el contexto internacional y\u00a0con mejores indicadores de sustentabilidad\u00a0energ\u00e9tica.<\/p>\n

En relaci\u00f3n a este concurso, el investigador Parra coment\u00f3 que se vislumbran una serie de nuevas oportunidades y que esperan aclarar con el apoyo de Hub Apta, y as\u00ed, establecer una buena estrategia de comercializaci\u00f3n para los sensores,\u00a0\u201cy seguir haciendo otros desarrollos que tenemos en carpeta para la industria de fundiciones de cobre, para la miner\u00eda y, a mediano plazo para otras industrias, aprovechando la experiencia del investigador Sergio Torres, y por tanto, podemos dise\u00f1ar un plan de desarrollo para que esta empresa sea un catalizador para los desarrollos que hemos venido haciendo desde la universidad\u201d,\u00a0<\/strong>explica.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan cont\u00f3 Roberto Parra \u2013 tiene relaci\u00f3n con la credibilidad con la industria como resultado de toda una\u00a0tradici\u00f3n de vinculaci\u00f3n que\u00a0ha tenido el\u00a0Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Metal\u00fargica, siendo un referente\u00a0de trabajo colaborativo.\u00a0\u201cLa industria tambi\u00e9n tiene conocimiento de qu\u00e9 es lo que nosotros como acad\u00e9micos somos capaces de entregar. Es un trabajo de d\u00e9cadas, iniciado por el Profesor\u00a0Wilkomirsky, que nos ha permitido establecer un nexo de trabajo colaborativo con la industria para proyectar\u00a0la actividad\u00a0universitaria\u00a0y\u00a0en\u00a0beneficio para todos, especialmente, para nuestros estudiantes que cuentan con m\u00e1s recursos para hacer m\u00e1s investigaci\u00f3n aplicada resolviendo los problemas de la industria\u00a0\u201c.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cabe destacar que en esta iniciativa particip\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n el proyecto Unidad de eliminaci\u00f3n de sombras en tiempo real sobre video de alta definici\u00f3n, <\/em>liderado por el docente e investigador de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda UdeC, Jorge Pezoa. Se trata de un dispositivo electr\u00f3nico o hardware \u2013 a peque\u00f1a escala \u2013 que tiene un algoritmo programado para detectar y eliminar o reducir sombras en videos de alta definici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
