Con m\u00e1s de 100 participantes se llevo a cabo la sexta Jornada de Mujeres en Ingenier\u00eda (JMI) organizada por la directiva y voluntarias de WIE UdeC. Durante jornadas distribuidas en dos d\u00edas se desarroll\u00f3 la instancia abierta donde participaron 5 expositoras, \u201cde cada jornada se aprendi\u00f3 algo distinto y lo que m\u00e1s hay que destacar en realidad es el ambiente de confianza y de sororidad, de inspiraci\u00f3n que dan este tipo de charlas es inigualable. Quien abri\u00f3 la jornada fue Catalina Troncoso, presidenta de Mujeres STEM Chile, \u201cs\u00faper empoderada y decidida, irradiaba tambi\u00e9n esta motivaci\u00f3n de empoderamiento as\u00ed que fue muy bueno\u201d, se\u00f1ala Catalina y agrega respecto a la segunda expositora del primer d\u00eda Anah\u00ed Gajardo, profesora de ciencias fisicas y matematicas, \u201ctiene una vocacion tremenda por las matem\u00e1ticas y la pedagogia, nos llevamos tambi\u00e9n la sorpresa de que ella era nieta de Justicia Espa\u00f1a Acu\u00f1a, que es la primera ingenier\u00eda en chile y en Sudamerica y nosotras no sab\u00edamos\u201d. La JMI de este a\u00f1o, marcada por la modalidad online, ser\u00e1 subida a las plataformas de WIE UdeC para fin de a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

Continuando el encuentro se present\u00f3 Virginia Ballarin, ingeniera electr\u00f3nica y co-Chair del Comitee of Women in MBE , \u201cnos coment\u00f3 sobre un concepto que es STEMpreneurs, que son las emprendedoras en STEM femeninas. Ah\u00ed comentaba sobre la superaci\u00f3n, que hab\u00eda que atreverse y eso en realidad fue muy genial, porque nunca hab\u00edamos visto este concepto que trataba del atreverse a emprender e innovar en \u00e1reas STEM siendo mujer<\/strong>\u201d, destaca Catalina estudiante de ingenier\u00eda civil inform\u00e1tica de nuestra Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda UdeC. Finalmente el primer d\u00eda finaliz\u00f3 con la charla de Jennifer Castillo, \u00a0quien durante el 2021 ser\u00e1 la Chair de IEEE Women in Engineering, la instancia se marc\u00f3 con su interacci\u00f3n con Virginia respecto a sus experiencias juntas gracias a las organizaciones en las que participan.<\/p>\n

\nQuien abri\u00f3 la jornada fue Catalina Troncoso, presidenta de Mujeres STEM Chile, \u201cs\u00faper empoderada y decidida, irradiaba tambi\u00e9n esta motivaci\u00f3n de empoderamiento as\u00ed que fue muy bueno\u201d, se\u00f1ala Catalina y agrega respecto a la segunda expositora del primer d\u00eda Anah\u00ed Gajardo, profesora de ciencias fisicas y matematicas, \u201ctiene una vocacion tremenda por las matem\u00e1ticas y la pedagogia, nos llevamos tambi\u00e9n la sorpresa de que ella era nieta de Justicia Espa\u00f1a Acu\u00f1a, que es la primera ingenier\u00eda en chile y en Sudamerica y nosotras no sab\u00edamos\u201d. Continuando el encuentro se present\u00f3 Virginia Ballarin, ingeniera electr\u00f3nica y co-Chair del Comitee of Women in MBE , \u201cnos coment\u00f3 sobre un concepto que es STEMpreneurs, que son las emprendedoras en STEM femeninas. Ah\u00ed comentaba sobre la superaci\u00f3n, que hab\u00eda que atreverse y eso en realidad fue muy genial, porque nunca hab\u00edamos visto este concepto que trataba del atreverse a emprender e innovar en \u00e1reas STEM siendo mujer<\/strong>\u201d, destaca Catalina estudiante de ingenier\u00eda civil inform\u00e1tica de nuestra Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda UdeC. Finalmente el primer d\u00eda finaliz\u00f3 con la charla de Jennifer Castillo, \u00a0quien durante el 2021 ser\u00e1 la Chair de IEEE Women in Engineering, la instancia se marc\u00f3 con su interacci\u00f3n con Virginia respecto a sus experiencias juntas gracias a las organizaciones en las que participan.<\/p>\n

El segundo d\u00eda de la sexta versi\u00f3n de la Jornada Mujeres Ingenieras se abri\u00f3 con la charla de Valentina mu\u00f1oz, cuyo apodo es \u201cchica rosadita\u201d en redes sociales, activa en la plataforma de instagram y la participante m\u00e1s joven en la construcci\u00f3n de la primera pol\u00edtica de inteligencia artificial en Chile. \u201cComent\u00f3 sobre que la edad no imped\u00eda realizar distintos tipos de proyectos que, muchas veces se generaba mucho adultocentrismo y que a las y los ni\u00f1os no se les permit\u00eda generar el impacto que quiz\u00e1s ellos tienen la capacidad para realizar y se le pon\u00eda muchas trabas, entonces ella supero eso y comento su historia\u201d,<\/strong> explica Catalina Pezo respecto a la jornada.<\/p>\n

Uno de los tres ejes que trabaja Wie UdeC es la vinculaci\u00f3n con las y los estudiantes de ense\u00f1anza media,\u00a0 \u201cinspirar a ni\u00f1as a que se interesen en el \u00e1rea STEM, el \u00e1rea de ciencias, tecnolog\u00eda y matem\u00e1tica es un \u00e1rea posible para ellas y de la misma forma mostrarle a las ni\u00f1as y ni\u00f1os que no hay diferencia de genero en cuanto a capacidades y habilidades<\/strong>\u201d afirma Catalina Pezo agregando que bajo esa misi\u00f3n han desarrollado distintas actividades y que este a\u00f1o se concret\u00f3 en el primer concurso abierto en JMI llamado Justicia Espa\u00f1a Acu\u00f1a, dirigido a estudiantes jovenes.<\/p>\n

La actividad desarrollada gracias a las gestiones de las voluntarias y directiva WIE UdeC, consist\u00eda en que los y las j\u00f3venes deb\u00edan inscribirse y enviar un video de cinco minutos ense\u00f1ando su proyecto. De todas las postulaciones quedaron tres finalistas que realizaron la presentaci\u00f3n de su propuesta en vivo durante el JMI. Lo anterior, evaluado por el jurado convocado a trav\u00e9s de una calificaci\u00f3n que asignar\u00eda los lugares y respectivos premios monetarios.<\/p>\n

\u201cEl primer lugar fue un proyecto sustentable, se trataba de un biodigestor que permit\u00eda generar electricidad y tambi\u00e9n calefacci\u00f3n. De hecho, ten\u00edan como un experimento super interesante donde hac\u00edan cocer un huevo de codorniz. Fue super bueno ese proyecto porque era muy completo segu\u00eda la metodolog\u00eda del m\u00e9todo cient\u00edfico\u201d<\/strong>, explica Catalina presidenta de WIE UdeC.<\/p>\n

En WIE UdeC no solamente participan mujeres sino que tambi\u00e9n hombres forman parte con el objetivo de trabajar para fomentar la inclusi\u00f3n de la mujer en las \u00e1reas de la ingenier\u00eda, \u201cel a\u00f1o pasado y este a\u00f1o se hizo como una especie de reclutamiento al inicio de a\u00f1o con una charla masiva para estudiantes de la Udec que quieran formar parte de WIE y en esa instancia este a\u00f1o particip\u00f3 mucha gente, terminamos con un total de 60 personas en el grupo y de todas formas no nos cerramos a recibir gente durante el a\u00f1o nos pueden mandar un mensaje por Instagram, o a trav\u00e9s de alguna voluntaria o voluntario y los recibimos con los brazos abiertos<\/strong>\u201d se\u00f1ala Catalina, quien junto a su directiva afirman estar orgullosas y satisfechas de las actividades realizadas durante el 2020.<\/p>\n
