El 27 de agosto, el acad\u00e9mico de Ingenier\u00eda Civil en Telecomunicaciones, Dr. Jorge Pezoa, fue invitado a participar del lanzamiento del estudio \u201cSociedad digital: expectativas y capacidades de la tecnolog\u00eda 5G y su llegada a Chile\u201d<\/strong>, el que se realiz\u00f3 a trav\u00e9s de la plataforma Zoom y que cont\u00f3 adem\u00e1s con representantes del sector privado y el gobierno.<\/p>\n

En esta actividad se presentaron los resultados del estudio que prepar\u00f3 la consultora Deloitte, junto con la Subsecretar\u00eda de Telecomunicaciones, para conocer el impacto y el conocimiento de la ciudadan\u00eda y las industrias sobre el rol habilitador del 5G y su impacto
\nen la sociedad actual y del futuro.<\/p>\n

\u201cEl principal objetivo del estudio fue identificar la cercan\u00eda\u00a0 y percepci\u00f3n que tiene la ciudadan\u00eda respecto al 5G y las expectativas en torno al impacto de esta tecnolog\u00eda sobre las personas e industrias, sin perder de vista una mirada desde la ciberseguridad. Este estudio busca poner en palabras simples, el entendimiento de como un habilitador tecnol\u00f3gico como 5G, aumentar\u00e1 la capacidad de explotar la tecnolog\u00eda, centr\u00e1ndose en el bienestar de la ciudadan\u00eda\u201d,<\/strong> indic\u00f3 Carolina Pizarro, senior manager para el \u00e1rea Strategy Cyber Risk de Deloitte.<\/p>\n

Para realizar este estudio se entrevist\u00f3 a m\u00e1s de 2000 personas de distintas edades y, adicionalmente, a m\u00e1s de 60 ejecutivos de diversas empresas, para explorar los diferentes estados de conocimiento de los usuarios respecto a esta tecnolog\u00eda, as\u00ed como las diferencias en las motivaciones de uso de la tecnolog\u00eda desde la perspectiva individual, social y de las empresas.<\/p>\n

Una de las conclusiones principales que se arrojaron, fue que existe un alto grado de desconocimiento de la ciudadan\u00eda con respecto a esta tecnolog\u00eda: sus impactos, lo que la habilita y qu\u00e9 es realmente el 5G. \u201cVemos que m\u00e1s de la mitad de los ciudadanos que se sienten muy poco o nada familiarizados con el concepto. Pero si entramos en el\u00a0 detalle generacional,\u00a0 vemos que los nativos digitales pueden ver con mayor claridad los beneficios futuros de esta tecnolog\u00eda (64% Generaci\u00f3n Z y 59% Millennials)\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

El estudio tambi\u00e9n incluy\u00f3 algunas interrogantes en relaci\u00f3n a la crisis sanitaria, abordando la visi\u00f3n de c\u00f3mo el Covid-19 ha acelerado a nivel global la transformaci\u00f3n digital de muchas organizaciones. Una de ellas se relacionaba con c\u00f3mo afectar\u00eda el 5G el modo en que los ciudadanos usan esta tecnolog\u00eda, lo que demostr\u00f3 que los chilenos consideran que \u00e9sta podr\u00eda cambiar el modo en que realizan sis tr\u00e1mites (47%), seguido por la forma en que desarrollan su trabajo (34%), y la forma en que compran (32%).<\/p>\n

La senior manager, tambi\u00e9n destac\u00f3 el impacto del estudio en el actual escenario de distanciamiento social: \u201cEn el actual contexto donde hemos visto una nueva realidad con\u00a0formas nuevas de trabajar, estudiar y compartir, las repercusiones de una tecnolog\u00eda como 5G son m\u00e1s profundas y transversales. Creemos que con todo lo que estamos viviendo a nivel mundial, hoy cobra a\u00fan m\u00e1s sentido la implementaci\u00f3n de una tecnolog\u00eda que facilitar\u00e1 una nueva forma de ser y hacer\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dentro de la presentaci\u00f3n de este estudio, el Dr. Pezoa present\u00f3 el trabajo que se ha realizado en la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n, ligado al 5G. \u201cEn el 2017 se firm\u00f3 un acuerdo marco entre el instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Harvin y Fiberhome para establecer un laboratorio conjunto y lo que busca es promover varias tecnolog\u00edas. Se formaron 5 pilares de colaboraci\u00f3n: desarrollo en agricultura inteligente, campus inteligente, tecnolog\u00edas habilitantes para Smart Cities, 5G y el cable de fibra \u00f3ptica submarino\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Como representante del estado, la Subsecretaria de Telecomunicaciones, Pamela Gidi, coment\u00f3, entre otras tem\u00e1ticas, sobre las exigencias en la nueva licitaci\u00f3n para mejorar la cobertura y descentralizar esta tecnolog\u00eda. \u201cEn t\u00e9rminos de cobertura, para que un<\/b>
\nproyecto t\u00e9cnico de cualquier empresa para cualquiera de las tres bandas, tiene que tener por obligaci\u00f3n una cobertura m\u00ednima y describir donde va a tener cada antena y tiene que tener una cobertura m\u00ednima del 90% de la poblaci\u00f3n en un plazo m\u00e1ximo de tres a\u00f1os, <\/strong>con puntaje extra si da esta cobertura en los primeros a\u00f1os en lugar del tercero. (\u2026) Estamos pidiendo que este proyecto t\u00e9cnico incluya todas las capitales regionales, pero adem\u00e1s todas las provinciales, para asegurar nuevamente que haya despliegue a nivel nacional\u201d .<\/b><\/p>\n
