El docente del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda El\u00e9ctrica desde el a\u00f1o 2008, Pablo Aqueveque Navarro, fue promovido a profesor Titular de nuestra Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda hace algunos d\u00edas. Aqu\u00ed relatamos, un poco m\u00e1s en profundidad los pasajes y vueltas que lo llevaron a este nuevo logro en su trayectoria acad\u00e9mica.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Inquieto, medio desordenado e incluso un poco hiperactivo, as\u00ed se recuerda Pablo Aquevque en su infancia. Un ni\u00f1o al que los profesores o quienes estuvieran a su cargo siempre le daban m\u00e1s tareas y trabajos, b\u00e1sicamente para entretenerlo. A eso se suma su porf\u00eda y que no se contentaba con un \u201cno\u201d por respuesta. Cuestionador por naturaleza, \u00e9l se preguntaba \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 no? As\u00ed se empieza a forjar un hombre al que le encantaba \u00abarmar cosas\u00bb, y por sobre todo, los desaf\u00edos. \u201cY te equivocas cien veces, pero la satisfacci\u00f3n de haber hecho algunas bien te empuja a seguir avanzando\u201d<\/strong>, dice, recordando \u00e9sos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Los primeros pasos de Pablo en nuestra Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda los da el a\u00f1o 1995, cuando \u00e9l, oriundo de Santiago y buscando estudiar la carrera de Ingenier\u00eda Electr\u00f3nica, decide venir a la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

De aquella \u00e9poca guarda recuerdos muy entretenidos, grandes amigos de diferentes partes de Chile, adem\u00e1s de una muy buena evaluaci\u00f3n de los aspectos t\u00e9cnicos de su carrera.<\/p>\n

Siempre busquilla, cuando cursaba cuarto a\u00f1o empez\u00f3 a trabajar en proyectos junto al docente Eduardo Wiechmann<\/strong>, los que se relacionaban directamente con la industria. Eso era por lejos lo que m\u00e1s le gustaba, la conexi\u00f3n con el mundo real y el aprendizaje garantizado. \u00abEn ese sentido me gustar\u00eda agradecer y reconocer al profesor (Wiechmann) por la constante orientaci\u00f3n, por todo el aprendizaje que obtuve de \u00e9l, los consejos en todos estos a\u00f1os y b\u00e1sicamente por acercarnos desde el mundo acad\u00e9mico de la ingenier\u00eda hacia la parte m\u00e1s industrial de cada una de las soluciones, lo que sin duda me sirvi\u00f3 para tener adquirir una gran experiencia\u00bb.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Egresado de Ingenier\u00eda Civil Electr\u00f3nica, sus inicios laborales fueron como consultor, desarrollando soluciones para distintas empresas de ingenier\u00eda, principalmente de la industria minera. En esos tiempos trabajaba en Concepci\u00f3n, al mismo tiempo que en Santiago y en el norte. \u201cEl 2004, casi tres a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, empec\u00e9 el doctorado y fue ah\u00ed cuando me establec\u00ed por completo en Conce\u201d<\/strong>, relata.<\/p>\n

Luego de cuatro a\u00f1os de estudio y donde paralelamente Pablo impart\u00eda clases partime<\/em> tanto en \u00e9sta, como en distintas Universidades y Centros de Formaci\u00f3n T\u00e9cnica -entre ellos la Universidad del Desarrollo y el Duoc-, adem\u00e1s de participar en algunos proyectos industriales, en octubre del 2008 llega la invitaci\u00f3n para para sumarse a la planta docente del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda El\u00e9ctrica de la FI UdeC.<\/p>\n

A fines del a\u00f1o 2009 viaja a Inglaterra junto a su familia para realizar un postdoctorado en el University College London. \u201cEstuvimos un a\u00f1o y medio trabajando en un proyecto de postdoc y fue ah\u00ed cuando me acerqu\u00e9 mucho m\u00e1s al desarrollo electr\u00f3nico para aplicaciones de sistemas de monitoreo biom\u00e9dicas, en particular de implantes electr\u00f3nicos\u201d, <\/strong>comenta.<\/p>\n

Es en el a\u00f1o 2014 cuando vuelve a escalar en su carrera acad\u00e9mica y asciende a la categor\u00eda de Profesor Asociado. \u201cL\u00f3gicamente cada ciertos a\u00f1os uno se somete a una evaluaci\u00f3n que es bien completa, porque no solo te miden en docencia, sino tambi\u00e9n la participaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo de proyectos, la vinculaci\u00f3n industrial, la asistencia t\u00e9cnica y la vinculaci\u00f3n con el medio\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Entre los hitos que Pablo Aqueveque atesora como los acontecimientos m\u00e1s relevantes en su trayectoria acad\u00e9mica, destaca al SmartFES, un dispositivo que ayuda a las personas que sufren accidentes cerebro vasculares a mejorar la marcha del pie ca\u00eddo a trav\u00e9s del env\u00edo de un est\u00edmulo el\u00e9ctrico. \u201cCreo que uno de los momento m\u00e1s emocionantes fue <\/strong>cuando el SmartFES empez\u00f3 a ser utilizado y en el fondo lo que parti\u00f3 como una investigaci\u00f3n, evolucion\u00f3 en un producto \u00fatil para a sociedad; <\/strong>fue adem\u00e1s un proyecto que dur\u00f3 varios a\u00f1os\u201d<\/strong>, expresa.<\/p>\n

Asimismo, la adjudicaci\u00f3n del Proyecto de Manufactura Avanzada<\/strong> en 2018, marca para Pablo un antes y un despu\u00e9s, ya que fue la primera vez que la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n ejecutaba un programa tecnol\u00f3gico como beneficiaria.<\/p>\n

\u201cCreo que es un hito muy importante tambi\u00e9n cuando se conforma un grupo humano de trabajo, con estudiantes y colegas en un mismo espacio, compartiendo el deseo y el entusiasmo por desarrollar proyectos, por investigar, por estar en la cresta de la ola del conocimiento. Entonces te das cuenta que ellos sienten los mismos desaf\u00edos y el mismo compromiso, y que no estamos solos en este camino\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Pablo actualmente lidera un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n compuesto por cinco estudiantes de doctorado, siete de mag\u00edster, algunos de pregrado y otros profesionales contratados a jornada completa. \u201cEs un equipo bastante nutrido en recursos humanos que nos permite desarrollar cosas bien interesantes, y es importante porque no es f\u00e1cil conseguir ese n\u00famero de personas trabajando. Por tanto las cosas se vuelven tambi\u00e9n m\u00e1s desafiantes, pero si la colaboraci\u00f3n est\u00e1 bien hecha, es muy entretenido y m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil de llevar\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sin duda una de sus contribuciones m\u00e1s importantes en el \u00faltimo tiempo ha sido el liderazgo en equipo de la UdeC que desarrolla junto con ASMAR un Aparato de Ventilaci\u00f3n Mec\u00e1nica para enfrentar la actual pandemia por el nuevo coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, conocido popularmente como Covid-19.<\/p>\n

\u201cHa sido un desaf\u00edo s\u00faper interesante, ya llevamos casi seis semanas y el equipo est\u00e1 probado. En este momento estamos definiendo las etapas del escalamiento, es decir, de c\u00f3mo pasar\u00e1 de ser desde un prototipo a producirse en masa, con est\u00e1ndares de calidad en la fabricaci\u00f3n, pruebas y conseguir todos los componentes necesarios para ello\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
