El hombre con m\u00e1s trayectoria en nuestra Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda emprendi\u00f3 el rumbo cuando dorm\u00eda la noche del s\u00e1bado 25 de abril, a meses de cumplir 90 a\u00f1os.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carlos Quinteros, conocido entre todos quienes integran la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda, fue una persona muy reservada y de bajo perfil, pero no menos amable y respetuoso. Sus colegas lo recuerdan por su sentido de la responsabilidad y el gran compromiso con su trabajo. Nunca dej\u00f3 de cumplir, a excepci\u00f3n de cuando debi\u00f3 estar hospitalizado hace pocos meses por una dificultad card\u00edaca.<\/p>\n

Siempre en su oficina del tercer piso del Edificio Tecnol\u00f3gico Mec\u00e1nico, Carlos Quinteros disfrutaba de una buena conversaci\u00f3n. Mejor a\u00fan si era con los estudiantes; cuyo contacto permanente lo manten\u00edan vital para su avanzada edad.<\/p>\n

\u201cUna excelente persona; muy atento a si nos pasaba o necesit\u00e1bamos algo, si ten\u00edamos alguna urgencia o problema, incluso\u00a0 econ\u00f3micos. \u00c9l siempre nos apoy\u00f3<\/strong>\u201d, comenta An\u00edbal Morales, auxiliar del TM y quien comparti\u00f3 con Quinteros durante ocho a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Su vida previa a la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n fue un gran episodio como \u00e1rbitro de la Federaci\u00f3n Internacional de B\u00e1squetball, FIBA. En ese rol viaj\u00f3 por diferentes pa\u00edses y se nutri\u00f3 de diversas experiencias que hasta el d\u00eda de hoy le iluminaban el rostro cuando recordaba aquella \u00e9poca.<\/p>\n

A sus 89 a\u00f1os, Carlos Quinteros se mov\u00eda en el Tecnol\u00f3gico Mec\u00e1nico sin muleta ni bast\u00f3n, \u201ccaminaba para todos lados, nosotros solo lo acompa\u00f1\u00e1bamos a veces en las escaleras para tener mayor cuidado<\/strong>\u201d, recuerda An\u00edbal.<\/p>\n

Ingres\u00f3 a la Universidad a trabajar con Sergio Lavanchy en los a\u00f1os 50. Desde ah\u00ed que nunca m\u00e1s quiso abandonar la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda.<\/p>\n

\u201cPese a que en el \u00faltimo tiempo hab\u00eda sufrido complicaciones de salud, \u00e9l dec\u00eda que estaba bien<\/strong>\u201d, cuenta Wilfredo Cuevas, tambi\u00e9n auxiliar del TM. \u201cSi lo tuviese que describir, dir\u00eda que fue una persona tremendamente responsable, de las primeras en llegar y muy pendiente. Siempre dijo que s\u00f3lo dejar\u00eda de venir a la Universidad si fallec\u00eda. \u00c9sta era pr\u00e1cticamente su casa<\/strong>\u00ab.\u00a0<\/p>\n
