Fuente: Katerinne Pavez, Noticias UdeC<\/em><\/p>\n Desde sus casas, pero trabajando en equipo, cerca de una decena de estudiantes de Ingenier\u00eda Biom\u00e9dica y acad\u00e9micos de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda imprimen piezas de protectores faciales, un insumo escaso y muy necesario para el personal de salud que combate la epidemia de\u00a0Covid-19<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0en los hospitales.<\/p>\n El profesor Pablo Aqueveque, quien adem\u00e1s dirige el Centro de Industria 4.0 de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda UdeC, encabeza este esfuerzo, que es fruto de la colaboraci\u00f3n de cinco casas de estudio, Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n, de Talca, la Frontera, los Lagos y Austral.<\/p>\n Desde que la noticia se conoce, Aqueveque se\u00f1ala que han recibido llamadas de lugares tales como Chilo\u00e9, Puerto Montt y Osorno. \u201cAh\u00ed hemos empezado a derivar a las redes de apoyo que se est\u00e1n formando. Por temas de log\u00edstica no es f\u00e1cil enviar las mascarillas a Chilo\u00e9, por lo que lo que hemos estado es coordinando con gente de all\u00e1 que tenga la capacidad de impresi\u00f3n\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n El trabajo comenz\u00f3 con pruebas de distintos modelos. La primera entrega de 80 m\u00e1scaras fue a la Intendencia de la Regi\u00f3n de Biob\u00edo, para que fuera distribuida a los centros de salud de la zona. La tarea se realiza con ocho impresoras, las que est\u00e1n distribuidas en las casas de distintos profesionales, dado que no pueden reunirse en la Universidad.<\/p>\n Adem\u00e1s de esta labor, el equipo tiene otros proyectos. En primer lugar, est\u00e1n en conversaciones con proveedores para obtener un molde, que permita fabricar m\u00e1scaras mediante sistemas de inyecci\u00f3n, lo que acelera el proceso. \u201cLa Unidad de Desarrollo Tecnol\u00f3gico tiene una inyectora, pero estamos buscando proveedores que puedan fabricar el molde r\u00e1pido, porque es un proceso que se demora normalmente entre 60 y 80 d\u00edas\u201d,<\/strong> se\u00f1ala Aqueveque.<\/p>\n Otras tareas que est\u00e1n en carpeta son el estudio y fabricaci\u00f3n de piezas de maquinaria que pueda echarse a perder en los hospitales y que escaseen en el mercado, adem\u00e1s de la fabricaci\u00f3n de ventiladores de bajo costo. El MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) acaba de liberar los planos para la fabricaci\u00f3n de un ventilador mec\u00e1nico que costar\u00eda solo 100 d\u00f3lares (unos 80 mil pesos chilenos).<\/p>\n Aqueveque explica que, en estos momentos, aun no se dimensionan cuales ser\u00e1n las verdaderas necesidades de los equipos de salud, respecto a las piezas que puedan estropearse. \u201cAdem\u00e1s se deben tener todas las garant\u00edas de esterilizaci\u00f3n y tratamiento sanitario de las piezas\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n Respecto al ventilador, asegura que se necesita un fabricante industrial para acometer esa tarea. Si bien dice que no hay nada concreto por el momento, cree que un lugar donde este trabajo podr\u00eda acometerse en la regi\u00f3n ser\u00eda, por ejemplo, en ASMAR.<\/p>\n Una m\u00e1scara como las que se est\u00e1n elaborando hoy tiene un costo de aproximadamente $1.500 pesos y por el momento, los equipos est\u00e1n trabajando con donaciones. \u201cPedimos material como pl\u00e1stico o micas de PVC transparente, tambi\u00e9n usamos acetato acr\u00edlico\u201d<\/strong>.
