Agradecido del apoyo que ha sido fundamental para su carrera deportiva, manifest\u00f3 estar el deportista paral\u00edmpico, Robinson M\u00e9ndez, quien desde ayer cuenta con una nueva silla para su embarcaci\u00f3n, con nuevas especificaciones fabricada por el grupo de Estructuras Livianas y Prototipos del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Mec\u00e1nica, DIM, liderados por el docente, Carlos Medina.
\nEn cuanto a lo t\u00e9cnico, el docente del DIM, Carlos Medina, coment\u00f3 que mejor\u00f3 la posici\u00f3n en el asiento, \u201centonces ahora es m\u00e1s compacta, la persona ya no pierde energ\u00eda en el movimiento, ahora solo se va a preocupar de remar y no de mantener la estabilidad que era uno de los problemas que ten\u00eda\u201d, dijo.<\/p>\n

Si bien con la versi\u00f3n anterior \u00e9l hab\u00eda mejorado mucho en su tiempo por la posici\u00f3n en la que estaba, a\u00fan hab\u00eda algunas falencias, entre ellas que las piernas quedaban un poco sueltas, entonces ahora se ajust\u00f3 el tema de las piernas para que tuvieran una mayor estabilidad en el remado y no se preocupara de otra cosa, especific\u00f3 el acad\u00e9mico.<\/p>\n

Por su parte, Robinson M\u00e9ndez, manifest\u00f3 que con el nuevo asiento pretende bajar mucho m\u00e1s su marca, lo que hab\u00eda logrado con la versi\u00f3n anterior fabricada por el mismo grupo del DIM. De esta manera, el deportista est\u00e1 enfocado en lograr un buen tiempo en el mundial de Alemania, que se realizar\u00e1 en mayo, para clasificar a sus quintos Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos, esa es la idea y obviamente en canoa mejorar el color de la medalla que en el mundial pasado fue bronce.<\/p>\n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 expectativas tienes para este a\u00f1o?<\/p>\n

El objetivo es Tokio 2020 que es un objetivo igual o m\u00e1s importante que una medalla mundial, as\u00ed es que ojal\u00e1 poder clasificar para ir.
\nNo estaba en mis planes, porque reci\u00e9n llevo tres o cuatro a\u00f1os en este deporte, pero se adelant\u00f3 todo con mi rendimiento deportivo, con el asiento mucho m\u00e1s, esperemos, que pueda salir todo bien y ojal\u00e1 mejorar el color de la medalla en canoa y poder clasificar en kayak a mis quintos juegos ol\u00edmpicos que ser\u00eda un sue\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 tan importante ha sido para ti en esta carrera la colaboraci\u00f3n de la UdeC?<\/p>\n

Ha sido bastante importante, sin duda, porque para un deportista paral\u00edmpico, con una discapacidad de no control de tronco, los accesorios que debe tener para mantenerse estable en la embarcaci\u00f3n o cualquier tipo de deporte en sillas de ruedas, es muy importante, es tu centro de gravedad, tu centro de equilibrio y de eso depende el 100 por ciento de tu rendimiento.<\/p>\n

Estoy infinitamente agradecido de la Universidad, del profesor del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Mec\u00e1nica, Carlos Medina, de los chicos que se portaron un siete conmigo, siempre estuvieron ah\u00ed trabajando, trabajando los fines de semanas o los d\u00edas que no ten\u00edan que venir, solo para entregarme el asiento y feliz, feliz que una instituci\u00f3n tan importante haya cre\u00eddo en m\u00ed y me haya apoyado, feliz que est\u00e9n junto a m\u00ed y me ha ayudado much\u00edsimo, no saben cu\u00e1nto.<\/p>\n
