La Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n<\/strong> se encuentra preparando el despliegue de una red 5G en su campus central<\/strong>, la cual ser\u00e1 la primera en su tipo entre las universidades chilenas.<\/p>\n

Para ello, se espera la pronta recepci\u00f3n y pruebas del equipamiento 5G por parte de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda y en paralelo, la tramitaci\u00f3n del permiso experimental ante la Subsecretaria de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL).<\/p>\n

\u00abEl desarrollo de 5G ser\u00e1 exitoso en el pa\u00eds solo si todos los integrantes del ecosistema de las telecomunicaciones aportamos ideas, trabajo y nuestra experiencia para su despliegue. Es por esto que recibimos con bastante satisfacci\u00f3n el anuncio de la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n de la implementaci\u00f3n de un piloto 5G en sus dependencias, principalmente por dos razones: la primera porque sigue la huella hist\u00f3rica de la academia chilena, de crear e implementar desarrollos tecnol\u00f3gicos, y segundo, porque lleva esta etapa experimental a regiones, descentralizando este proceso. Felicitamos a la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n por esta iniciativa, y esperamos que prontamente otras universidades se sumen a esta fase de experimentaci\u00f3n\u201d<\/strong>, se\u00f1al\u00f3 la Subsecretaria de Telecomunicaciones, Pamela Gidi.<\/p>\n

Por su parte, la Vicerrectora de Investigaci\u00f3n y Desarrollo, Dra. Andrea Rodr\u00edguez Tastets, indic\u00f3 que es un importante paso para la Universidad, que abre as\u00ed un camino hacia la implementaci\u00f3n de nuevas herramientas: \u201cSe trata de una gran oportunidad, no solo para esta casa de estudios, sino para toda la regi\u00f3n. Nos permite contar con tecnolog\u00edas de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n para las comunicaciones, lo que es un factor habilitante para otras aplicaciones, como realidad virtual, ciudades inteligentes, rob\u00f3tica y mucho m\u00e1s. Esperamos que esta etapa signifique un gran aporte a la investigaci\u00f3n y por supuesto, a la formaci\u00f3n de nuevos profesionales\u201d<\/strong>, sostuvo la autoridad universitaria.<\/p>\n

El equipamiento fue donado por la empresa Telecomunicaciones China Datang Telecom International (DTI)<\/a>, en el marco del\u00a0 convenio vigente entre la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n<\/a>, el Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Harbin<\/a>, HIT, y esta empresa.<\/p>\n

\u201cEl equipamiento corresponde b\u00e1sicamente a una picocelda 5G y una plataforma software de log\u00edstica para agricultura inteligente, que incluye tel\u00e9fonos y algunos sensores b\u00e1sicos. El valor de la donaci\u00f3n es cercano a los USD$300,000, y el equipamiento 5G se alojar\u00e1 en la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda\u201d,<\/strong> indic\u00f3 el acad\u00e9mico Jorge Pezoa, director del laboratorio conjunto y encargado de llevar a cabo este acuerdo.<\/p>\n

Sobre esta implementaci\u00f3n Jimbo Guo, Jefe de Ventas y Marketing de Datang Telecom, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 que \u00abcon el apoyo del Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnolog\u00eda de China, los equipos han entrado en la fase final de puesta en servicio y ser\u00e1n enviados a Chile a principios del a\u00f1o 2020. En marzo del pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o, junto a un t\u00e9cnico, viajar\u00e9 a Concepci\u00f3n a supervisar la instalaci\u00f3n y configuraci\u00f3n de equipos\u201d.<\/strong> Esta instalaci\u00f3n se realizar\u00e1 junto a Luis Arteaga y Exequiel Campillo, administrativos del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda El\u00e9ctrica, quienes se capacitaron en tecnolog\u00edas 5G en China.<\/p>\n

Sobre los usos de estas herramientas, Gerente General de Asuntos Gubernamentales y Nuevos Negocios Datang Telecom y FiberHome, Xu Gaudi Ler, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que la idea del establecimiento de este laboratorio es que \u201clos estudiantes tengan la oportunidad de enfrentar directamente la tecnolog\u00eda de comunicaci\u00f3n 5G m\u00e1s avanzada.\u00a0 A trav\u00e9s de la pr\u00e1ctica, los estudiantes pueden ampliar sus horizontes y mejorar sus habilidades. En t\u00e9rminos de Smart Agriculture, las personas pueden comprender el conjunto completo de soluciones agr\u00edcolas inteligentes y tener una comprensi\u00f3n profunda de la gesti\u00f3n actual de la producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola, la trazabilidad de los productos y el control de la seguridad alimenticia\u00bb.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00abEn el futuro, el laboratorio conjunto generar\u00e1 oportunidades para consolidar y profundizar a\u00fan m\u00e1s la cooperaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica y tecnol\u00f3gica entre Chile y China. En la actualidad, las tres partes han llevado a cabo investigaciones y cooperaci\u00f3n en el campo de manejo de desastres de origen natural usando tecnolog\u00edas de informaci\u00f3n y comunicaci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s de esto, existe tambi\u00e9n cooperaci\u00f3n en el \u00e1rea de humanidades. Esperamos que todas estas instancias sirvan para construir un puente que acerque a Chile y China independientemente de la gran distancia geogr\u00e1fica que nos separa\u00bb<\/strong>, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 Xu Gaudi Ler.<\/p>\n

Cabe mencionar que la empresa China Datang Telecom es uno de los principales titulares de patentes del est\u00e1ndar internacional de comunicaci\u00f3n 5G, mientras que el Instituto de Tecnolog\u00eda de Harbin es una universidad top 10 en China, y su plataforma de agricultura inteligente ha sido ampliamente utilizada en el despliegue comercial en China.<\/p>\n
