Un art\u00edculo perteneciente a los docentes del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Metal\u00fargica de la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n, DIMET, Eugenia Araneda, V\u00edctor Parra, Eduardo Balladares y Roberto Parra recibi\u00f3 el premio a la mejor publicaci\u00f3n en la categor\u00eda de Procesamiento y Tecnolog\u00eda de Minerales que entrega anualmente la Sociedad de Minerales, Metales y Materiales de Estados Unidos, TMS.<\/strong><\/p>\n

El trabajo, \u201cEvoluci\u00f3n de la composici\u00f3n qu\u00edmica y de tama\u00f1os de part\u00edculas de concentrado de cobre oxidadas bajo condiciones simuladas de fusi\u00f3n instant\u00e1nea\u201d fue inserto en la revista Metall Mater Trans B en abril de 2018, se realiz\u00f3 en conjunto con investigadores de la Universidad de Sonora, M\u00e9xico, Manuel P\u00e9rez, V\u00edctor G\u00f3mez y Francisco Brown y se basa en los resultados de la tesis doctoral del profesor del DIMET, V\u00edctor Parra.<\/p>\n

La Dra. Eugenia Araneda explica que se trata de un reconocimiento producto del esfuerzo de colaboraci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de cinco a\u00f1os entre ambas universidades. \u201cEl grupo de trabajo es muy afiatado y muy generoso. Este premio demuestra que estamos haciendo las cosas bien, que vamos bien encaminados\u201d, se\u00f1ala.<\/p>\n

Bajo este mismo tema, el grupo de investigadores concuerda en que, ante problemas complejos, hay que tomarlos bajo una perspectiva de equipo. \u201cNuestro ADN de colaboraci\u00f3n y generosidad fue aprendido en la escuela de nuestro mentor, el Dr. Igor Wilkomirsky y eso se traduce en \u00e9ste est\u00edmulo que es a la excelencia, ya que se hizo con un alt\u00edsimo nivel t\u00e9cnico. Es un reconocimiento entre pares, que es lo principal\u201d, relata el Dr. Roberto Parra.<\/p>\n

La TMS es una sociedad profesional que conecta a cient\u00edficos e ingenieros que se desempe\u00f1an en la industria, en la academia y gobiernos de todo el mundo y reconoce -entre otras categor\u00edas- la labor de autores que representen una contribuci\u00f3n notable al avance de la tecnolog\u00eda de extracci\u00f3n y procesamiento de la metalurgia, con \u00e9nfasis en los metales no ferrosos.<\/p>\n

La entrega del galard\u00f3n formal se realizar\u00e1 durante la 149\u00aa reuni\u00f3n anual de TMS que se realizar\u00e1 en San Diego, California el pr\u00f3ximo 25 de febrero del 2020.<\/p>\n
