Durante la tercera semana de agosto, los investigadores de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda Roberto Parra, acad\u00e9mico del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Metal\u00fargica, y Sergio Torres, acad\u00e9mico del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda El\u00e9ctrica, visitaron Estados Unidos y Canad\u00e1
en distintos contextos.<\/p>\n
En Canad\u00e1 ambos investigadores participaron en la Conferencia Copper 2019, realizada en Vancouver. \u201cCopper es una conferencia que actualmente se hace cada 3 a\u00f1os, es una reuni\u00f3n en la que se combinan tres pilares fundamentales que corresponden a la parte <\/strong>t\u00e9cnica, cient\u00edfica y de mercado. Hay mucha presencia de la industria y es una oportunidad propicia para hacer contacto con ella, en ese sentido con el profesor Torres tenemos dos patentes con las que estamos haciendo pruebas industriales y producto de las <\/strong>presentaciones que hicimos en estos temas y otras conversaciones, se nos acercaron varias empresas interesadas en estos desarrollos, algunas en la perspectiva de usarlos. Fue muy positivo\u201d<\/strong>, indic\u00f3 el profesor Parra, quien adem\u00e1s es parte del Comit\u00e9 de Pirometalurgia de la Metallurgical Society de Canad\u00e1.<\/p>\n Estas dos patentes tambi\u00e9n son parte de las investigaciones que dieron base para el Proyecto Anillo de Miner\u00eda: \u201cCopper Spectral Sensing for copper smelters\u201d<\/strong>, que fue presentado por el profesor Torres en Marquette University, Estados Unidos. \u201cHice una<\/strong> Cabe mencionar que el proyecto Anillo, cuyo director es el prof. Daniel Sb\u00e1rbaro, busca desarrollar distintas tecnolog\u00edas para mejorar la producci\u00f3n y la operaci\u00f3n de las fundiciones de cobre.\u00a0\u201cEn este proyecto hay acad\u00e9micos de las \u00e1reas de Ciencias Qu\u00edmicas, F\u00edsica, Metalurgia y El\u00e9ctrica. Estamos desarrollando sensores para distintas etapas del proceso productivo del cobre a partir de\u00a0 concentrados, como hornos de fusi\u00f3n, espec\u00edficamente hornos flash y convertidor teniente, hornos de refinaci\u00f3n, de conversi\u00f3n\u00a0<\/strong>y la caracterizaci\u00f3n de concentrados y especies minerales. As\u00ed desarrollamos sensores\u00a0para conocer los componentes de distintos tipos de concentrado y podremos identificarlo\u00a0en la correa antes de entrar a los procesos de
