El gran potencial de innovaci\u00f3n, desarrollo y emprendimientos de base tecnol\u00f3gica (EBT) en el \u00e1rea aeroespacial en el Biob\u00edo fue el motor principal para la realizaci\u00f3n de New Space: Emprendimiento e Innovaci\u00f3n Espacial<\/strong>, la primera cumbre espacial en la regi\u00f3n organizada por la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda UdeC, el Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Mec\u00e1nica y Gearbox, que se desarroll\u00f3 el 4 de octubre en el Centro de Eventos Mitrinco y el 5 en el Centro Interactivo de Ciencias, Artes y Tecnolog\u00eda, CICAT.<\/p>\n

New Space cuenta con financiamiento de Corfo y su realizaci\u00f3n se enmarc\u00f3 adem\u00e1s en los 100 a\u00f1os de la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n y la conmemoraci\u00f3n de los 50 a\u00f1os de la llegada del Apolo XI a luna y c\u00f3mo ha evolucionado esta \u00e1rea en cinco d\u00e9cadas.<\/p>\n

La actividad cont\u00f3 con la presencia del Subsecretario de Defensa, Cristian de la Maza, quien firm\u00f3 – junto con el Rector Carlos Saavedra –\u00a0 un convenio de cooperaci\u00f3n entre el Ministerio de Defensa y la Universidad de Concepci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Cabe destacar que el desarrollo de est\u00e1ndares, cambios en filosof\u00edas de dise\u00f1o y avances tecnol\u00f3gicos han derribado barreras y se han generado oportunidades a actores no tradicionales en el mercado espacial, valorado en 360 billones de d\u00f3lares. Startups como Planet Labs, Spire Global, Space-X, entre otras, han levantado una inversi\u00f3n del orden de 13 billones de d\u00f3lares, y son parte del denominado New Space, en donde el sector privado juega un rol clave como actor en el desarrollo y explotaci\u00f3n del espacio.<\/p>\n

En este contexto destacados expertos de Estados Unidos, Europa, Rusia, entre otros, se dieron cita en la Regi\u00f3n del Biob\u00edo para compartir sus experiencias. \u201cContamos con un grupo de tomadores de decisi\u00f3n, actores pol\u00edticos, acad\u00e9micos, la empresa y estudiantes, estamos convencidos que estos \u00faltimos son fundamentales para el desarrollo de la industria<\/strong>\u201d, especific\u00f3 Alejandro L\u00f3pez, ingeniero aeroespacial, acad\u00e9mico de la Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda UdeC y Director de New Space.<\/p>\n

De igual manera, L\u00f3pez destac\u00f3 que el espacio es un tema motivador que permite ir a capturar valor a los mercados internacionales, \u201cel emprendimiento de base tecnol\u00f3gica es fundamental como motor para un pa\u00eds y para las v\u00edas de desarrollo y desde el B\u00edobio a Chile y al mundo vamos tener una cumbre de nivel internacional<\/strong>\u201d, especific\u00f3 el organizador de New Space, quien agreg\u00f3 que con esta iniciativa \u201cnos hacemos part\u00edcipes de la industria espacial internacional, tenemos el capital humano y tecnol\u00f3gico y desde lo p\u00fablico, privado y la academia nos hacemos cargo desde el Biob\u00edo<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n
