El Grupo Interdisciplinario de Nanotecnolog\u00eda Aplicada, GINA, del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda de Materiales<\/a> organiz\u00f3 un curso sobre biocorrosi\u00f3n, especialmente destinado a alumnos de postgrado y oficiales de la Armada.<\/p>\n

La actividad, efectuada entre el 01 y 03 de agosto, cont\u00f3 con la participaci\u00f3n de especialistas nacionales como del extranjero. Ellos fueron Matilde Fern\u00e1ndez de Romero del Centro de Estudios de Corrosi\u00f3n, Universidad del Zulia; Mar\u00eda Fernanda Romero, Ingeniero Qu\u00edmico de la Universidad Rafael Urdaneta; Carolina Gar\u00edn del Instituto de Qu\u00edmica de la Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Valpara\u00edso; y los ingenieros UdeC Andr\u00e9s D\u00edaz y Jes\u00fas Ram\u00edrez, ambos del GINA.<\/p>\n

Los temas tratados fueron:<\/p>\n

Nutrici\u00f3n Microbiana y Medios de cultivos propicios para el crecimiento de bacterias<\/li>\n

Formaci\u00f3n de Biopel\u00edcula.<\/li>\n

Descripci\u00f3n y Caracter\u00edsticas de Bioensuciamiento, Biocorrosi\u00f3n y Biodeterioro.<\/li>\n

Corrosi\u00f3n Microbiol\u00f3gica. Etapas de Desarrollo<\/li>\n

Evaluaci\u00f3n de Morfolog\u00eda de Biopel\u00edcula y de ataque mediante microscop\u00eda \u00f3ptica y de barrido<\/li>\n

Mantenimiento y operaci\u00f3n. Limpiezas y Biocidas oxidantes y no oxidantes<\/li>\n

Diagn\u00f3stico y evaluaci\u00f3n de MIC en terreno<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Basta experiencia en el tema posee la Doctora Matilde Fern\u00e1ndez de Romero, quien trabaj\u00f3 por m\u00e1s de 13 a\u00f1os en la industria petroqu\u00edmica y petrolera en Venezuela, para posteriormente liderar la l\u00ednea de biocorrosi\u00f3n en la Universidad de Zulia. \u201cDurante 18 a\u00f1o estuve dictando las c\u00e1tedras en la maestr\u00eda y doctorado de ingenier\u00eda, de biocorrosi\u00f3n, de tratamientos qu\u00edmicos, de corrosi\u00f3n b\u00e1sica\u201d<\/strong>, explic\u00f3 la especialista, quien hoy vive en Per\u00fa y asesora a la industria del gas y petroleras.<\/p>\n
En este curso debi\u00f3 ajustar un poco el plan de trabajo dictando lo fundamental para dar tiempo a discutir y hacer las pr\u00e1cticas. \u201cSiempre trato de hacerlo pr\u00e1ctico, porque creo que esa es la mejor forma de aprender\u201d,<\/strong> explic\u00f3 Fern\u00e1ndez, quien adem\u00e1s fue acompa\u00f1ada por su hija Mar\u00eda Fernanda Romero, tambi\u00e9n Ingeniera Qu\u00edmica, especialista en corrosi\u00f3n interna.<\/p>\n
\u201cMe toc\u00f3 dictar la parte pr\u00e1ctica, evaluando las bacterias, su factor reductora, productos de \u00e1cidos, y tratando de que este mundo crezca para que todos seamos un consorcio y podamos ayudarnos entre pa\u00edses, universidades y empresas\u201d<\/strong>, cont\u00f3 Mar\u00eda Fernanda.<\/p>\n
Por su parte, Carolina Gar\u00edn, profesora de la Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Valpara\u00edso, tambi\u00e9n viaj\u00f3 para formar parte del equipo de docentes. \u201cNosotros tenemos una nueva l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n de nanobiocorrosion en la universidad y estamos tratando de hacer el mapa de biocorrosi\u00f3n marino de Chile\u201d,<\/strong> cont\u00f3 Gar\u00edn.\u00a0 GINA y la Gobernaci\u00f3n Mar\u00edtima de Talcahuano tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n presente en el proyecto de construcci\u00f3n del mencionado mapa.<\/p>\n
